God called us to serve Him. To be “called” by God is to be assigned a specific task a specific time. One who wants to serve Christ must be able to appreciate his calling and discern what God wants to accomplish through him.

Prepared for good works:
Deut. 6:5; 13; 10:12; Eph.2: 10

Privileged to serve: 1Peter 4:10-11; One of the greatest honors we can have in our lives is to serve Christ. A true servant counts no greater joy than to serve at the pleasure of His master. Moved by Christ’s love, we must keep ourselves open to the possibility of being used by God in a way so that we can be His arms to those around us.

Why is serving God a privilege? What are the joys of serving God?

The servant’s goal: Pleasing God his master. Phil. 3:8

The servant’s gain: knowing Christ. Phil. 3:7-11

The servant’s glory: God’s purpose fulfilled. Phil. 3:12-14
